Cleaning and Care

We make every garment with love and care, and hope you'll treat it the same. Follow these care instructions and your garment will live a long life.

Laundry day doesn't come as often as you think

Sheep have evolved for their coats to keep them warm and naturally resist dirt and water. Our knitwear is the same!

While our garment can be machine washed, we recommend hand or spot washing first. Washing too aggressively or at a high temperature can shrink and warp the garment.

With wools magical dirt-resistant qualities, sometimes simply airing your garment is enough to bring back that clean feeling.

Hand/Spot Cleaning

We've all experienced it - a splash of mud, an accidental drop of ketchup. Don't panic! If your garment gets a bit mucky, spot cleaning is the best way to go.

  • Immediately, wipe the unclean area with a damp cloth.
  • Apply a small amount of water and soap or laundry detergent, and gently rub in circles until clean.
  • Rinse the soap away.
  • Press the area between your hands to squeeze out excess water - avoiding wrinkling the garment.
  • Lay flat and leave to air dry.

Machine Washing

We recommend handwashing as excessive heat and agitation can shrink jumper.

  • Turn the garment inside out, preferably in a laundry bag for extra protection.
  • Your washing machine should be set at a maximum of 30° on a wool or delicate cycle.
  • Reshape the garment while damp and dry flat.
  • Thinner garments can be ironed inside out on a low steam setting.
  • DO NOT use fabric softener, bleach or tumble dry.

Storage

Fold your garment and pop it in a dark, dry drawer or box. For wrinkle-free garments, don't fold through the needle felted design.

As a natural moth deterrent, you might choose to use citronella or lavender pouches.

Natural Wear and Tear

A well-loved garment will naturally fuzz and bobble over time, like any jumper. This is totally normal! Simply trim the fuzz using scissors or a lint trimmer. Rotary/electric lint trimmers are preferred as pulling trimmers may tug on the fibres.

With the right care, our upcycled garments can be worn for years to come.
